About Us

We are two sisters who love to travel.

Chrissi is the oldest sister, whose hobbies include cynicism, rallying against cynicism, creating itineraries for trips she has no intention of going on, and reading books she only vaguely understands.

Jenni is the younger sister, a francophile who seeks out quintessential charm in all things. She’s an aspiring locavore, a daydreamer, and a nearly pathological optimist.

Together, we like to run, write, drink good wine and go adventuring.

This blog is an experiment in incorporating our love of travel into every day life. Thanks for joining us. We hope you enjoy the ride!

Can anyone enjoy the musings of these two amazing young women more than me? I think not. A blessed Mother I surely am to have two daughters that share my joy for travel and adventure. I look forward to more fun ahead and have this strange realization that the teacher has now become the student. I am in awe of you both. Mom

    Jenni & Chrissi,

Love the blog! I have enjoyed reading and sharing your adventures with you. Both your styles of writing are so amazing, I feel that you are speaking them and not writing them…I can hear your voices! Can’t wait for the next adventure you take me on. You are amazing women. Blessings, Kathie

Thanks, Kathie. That’s what it’s about–all of us sharing our adventures and inspiring each other to new adventures, wherever we find ourselves!

It’s fun looking at that photo of you two walking down from (that other agriturismo). The two iconic cypresses tell me exactly where you are. They’re the one that has the foliage that begins a little higher than the rest of the trees (the one behind Chrissi) and the one that has the foliage separated into two parts (about three trees behind Jenni). There are two reasons why these trees mean something to me (other than the two beautiful women in the picture). First, they’re both very identifiable in the last scene of “Gladiator” when Russell Crowe’s character is walking through the wheat fields in Elysium (the Greco-Roman concept of heaven, after he has been killed in the Colosseum in Rome) – because that’s where that scene was filmed. Second, because that place where you’re pictured walking is right below where we live. It’s the scene I wake up to every day, but, now I’ll see you two in it. Thanks. Happy St. Valentine’s Day.

Wow, Gary! Walking that white road was a moment in time I’ll always treasure… What joy you must experience to wake up to that scene every day! Truly amazing. I’m so glad that 2 fellow Americans are living there and enjoying the beautiful Val d’Orcia day in, day out. Welcome to the blog…we look forward to “sharing” more travel moments with you in the future and gaining your perspective! I will have to watch the Gladiator now, after having stayed at Terrapille. :)
